Can only remember junior and senior year during which I was "transformed" into a wild and crazy gal and had a blast! My first 2 years were painful, being too shy to participate much! After graduating I entered the Miss Racine pageant mostly just to overcome my fears and much to my surprise, I won! From then on it was a different "public" life. Attended Dominican College, then went to work full-time as the Chief Tour Hostess at Johnson Wax; that was an education! Got married in 1965, divorced in 1970; moved to Milwaukee in 1971 where I started my career in commercials, then on to LA in 1981 where I continued that and eventually started teaching Voice Over, formed my own company called Word of Mouth Productions. After 16 years there I moved away from the hustle and craziness of LA to Phoenix Arizona where I still live in Tempe, AZ and continue teaching.

School Story:

I remember sneaking off to that little hang-out cafe on Villa street, can't remember the name, but oftentimes Sister Dominica would "raid" the place and we'd all get demerits.
Had a challenging time with a lot of the nuns during my senior year, got thrown out of many classes, but it was worth it just to stand up to some of those tyrants!
In my junior year my dad gave me his old 52 Ford which became a regular presence "scooping the loop" and often got stopped by Officer "Krupke",(can't remember his real name), but he laid in wait for us! Remember that gas was only 25cents a gal! Loved getting dressed up to go to all the dances; loved the music of the early 60s, "Please Mr. Postman"; "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes"; "Runaround Sue", etc. We should play some of those at the Reunion!

What teacher, priest, or coach was the most influential on your educational development during your years at SCHS - whether you graduated or transferred to another school:

Sister Candida, my homeroom teacher, saved my life!
Since my sister was also a Dominican nun at the time, all reports of my "behavior" were going back to her; boy did I feel persecuted. But Candida, as she preferred to be called, was a riot; she'd laugh at my antics and always wanted me to give her some gum! Funny! Sister Sean was pretty cool too. She was elected to "rescue" me by installing me as the cartoonist on the Shield newspaper. Working with her, gave me confidence in my drawing and I learned to expect the unexpected! Funny thing was those nuns imagined more about what I and my friends were doing than what we were really doing! An interesting bit of info: my sister eventually left the convent, married and has 11 grandchildren! Weoooo!

What is your favorite activity currently? Travel, sports, golfing, gardening, fishing, etc.

Still enjoy performing Voice Over and coaching "newbies" to the business. Also LOVE listening to Blues Bands of which we have many here in Phoenix. Active in an over 50 "Meetup" group; we get together for lunches, cocktails, dinners, wine-tasting, events.

What is the farthest country in the world that you have traveled to:

Traveled through England and Italy in the late 70s.

If you could recommend ONE, country to visit, cruise to take, or vacation spot to visit - what would it be?

Italy; love their exuberance, especially the men!
And of course the amazing ruins of when Rome ruled the world.

What USA historic site meant the most to you when you visited:

The Indian ruins here in Arizona; fascinating remnants of a highly developed system of living. Our water system is based on their irrigation structures.

The Biltmore estate in Asheville, NC and the historic sites of old plantations in the area. What a difficult and sad time in our history.

Wherever I've gone or lived, I love to explore historical buildings to learn about the architecture and stories about by-gone days.

Would you like to post a MEMORIAL or OBITUARY of a loved family member here, to share with your classmates - this will allow you to update your FAMILY HISTORY as well as yours:

Deceased: Father, mother, sister.
Have a niece and nephew and 11 grand nieces and nephews, all who live in Detroit.

Would you like to share your 'WINTER' LOCATION/ADDRESS so classmates in your location could contact you:

2727 E. University Dr. #35, Tempe, AZ 85281

Tell us of your AMERICAN GRAFFITII memories of the Summer of '62 - what do you recall of that glorious 'transition' summer?

THE BEST TIME OF MY LIFE, felt so free and hopeful and loved going to dances with my friends. Won Miss Racine and then started at Dominican College and had a blast!

Memories submitted at the 40th Reunion - July, 2002:

It was like a wish come true to reunite with the gals I hung out with in H.S. It was fun to re-experience our time together and learn about each other now. I didn't recognize most classmates, people's looks had changed so much; but toward the end of the evening the people I remembered and liked the most, (even from grade school!) hung around talking about lots of interesting life lessons. I was disappointed that more people hadn't attended but maybe this year they will!

Saw some old pictures of Racine movie theaters and it really brought back memories. My dad took me down to the Main St. theater when I was about 6 years old, to see it they were going to demolish it; he wanted to see it for the last time, which was unusual for him to be interested in that. They weren't showing any movies at that time, but I remember the huge lobby with a beautiful winding staircase. Also, my dad would walk me down to the Crown Theater on 16th street on Sunday. I loved going there because they had a "ladies room" that was like some of the ones in the movies with a "boudoir" dressing table and stuffed chairs and I'd play in there like I was in a movie. My mom went to the theater on Douglas every Tuesday for "dish night"! My dad would drop her off and then she'd take the last bus home. She must have gone for years because we had an entire set of dishes and silverware! And of course, being able to be in the Miss Racine pageant at the magnificent Venetian was really exciting. According to AMC, the city that has the most preserved and renovated theaters from the 1940s is Cleveland, Ohio. However we had some good ones and the Oriental in Milwaukee has been preserved and is magnificent; it is the closest I've seen to the beautiful preserved theaters of that era that are in Hollywood. Of course when I lived in LA I went to see all of the ones that were preserved. Most are still showing movies, but several of them now have live performances. We were lucky to have experienced the end of that era. Life was sweeter then.

Our generation was worried about the "bomb", whoever could have imagined that at our age we are living through a pandemic. Hope everyone is good. And as Mahatma Gandhi said:
"Whenever I despair I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it always."
