Floyd Peck October 25, 1944 — February 12, 2018 OLATHE, KS

— Floyd “Buck” Peck of Olathe, KS, died after a brief illness on Monday, February 12, 2018, at the age of 73 surrounded by his family. Buck was born October 25, 1944, in Racine, WI, where he attended St. Catherine’s and Horlick High Schools. He earned a B.S. in Business from the University of the State of New York. Buck spent his career in the wine and spirits industry, retiring as Vice President, Director of Purchasing at Major Brands Distributing of Missouri. Buck married Ruth Hansen on November 25, 1965, whom he loved more with each passing day of their 52 years of marriage. Buck and Ruth have two perfect children (said each), one more than the other (said one). The family moved from Racine to Olathe, KS, in 1981. Buck was actively involved at Holy Cross Lutheran Church where he personified grace. In his retirement he dedicated his life to serving others as a volunteer and a board member of Metro Lutheran Ministry. Every week he volunteered at Blessings Abound Thrift Store. Always striving for health and fitness, Buck loved bicy- cling with his buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Virginia Peck; brother Michael; and brother-in-law Dan Thielen. He is survived by his wife Ruth, of the home; son Michael (Lisa) of Overland Park, KS, and daughter Ann (James) Jesse of Lawrence, KS; grandchil- dren, Nathan and Joshua Peck, Sean and Paul Jesse, and chosen granddaughter, Lauren U; sisters Jean Thielen, Judy (Buster) Smith, and Mary Peck. A visitation will be held from 9:30-11am, funeral service 11am, on Thursday, February 22, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7851 W 119th St, Overland Park, KS 66213. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or the Jonathan U Youth Leadership Fund c/o Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
