- Dwight C. O'Brien, passed away at his residence Tuesday, October 5, 1999. Mr. O'Brien was born in Racine February 16, 1943, to Herbert Francis (nee: Glasser) O'Brien. He had been a lifelong resident. Mr. O'Brien married the former Patricia Jensen, who preceded him in death in 1992. He married the former Bonnie Celmer on September 13, 1997. Mr. O'Brien was employed by Zion Nuclear Power Plant. Among his greatest loves are his grandchildren, his rose garden, and baseball. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie O'Brien; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri (Raymond) Larson Racine and Tracy (Jason) Covert Milwaukee; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Shawn (Diana) O'Brien and Michael O'Brien, all of Racine; stepson, Stanley Celmer of Racine; five grandchildren, Ryan and Austin Larson, Alexandra and Sydney Covert, and Patricia O'Brien; mother, Francis O'Brien of Racine; six brothers and four sisters-in-law, Duane (Dorothy) O'Brien of Kenosha, Richard (Alice) O'Brien, David (Gloria) O'Brien, Delano O'Brien, Daniel (Rosemary) O'Brien, and Dennis O'Brien, all of Racine; and sister and brother-in-law, Darlene (Edward) Tanner of Racine. Mr. O'Brien is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services for Mr. O'Brien will be held at the funeral home Friday, October 8, 1999, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Highway 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorials to the Racine Zoological Society or Covenant Home Health and Hospice have been suggested. A special thank you to Dr. Richard Odders and his staff for all their support and loving care, and for making one of Dwight s last wishes come true.
