Gale Krusienski (Haakenson)

Gale C. Haakenson RACINE - Gale Claire Haakenson, age 72, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at her home in the loving arms of her husband Tom. She was born in Milwau- kee, WI, June 20, 1944, daughter of the late Ches- ter and Julia (Nee:Joo) Krusienski. Gale attended St. Cath- erine’s High School, Do- minican College and Patri- cia Stevens Modeling School. She worked at Porter’s Furniture Store, Modine Manufacturing, Getty Manufacturing, and J.I. Case Co while in Ra- cine. She moved to San Diego, CA and studied graphic arts at Platt Col- lege. There she worked as a production manager at Guns Magazine. She then moved to Tuscon, AZ where she lived for 17 years. Returning to Racine in 2000 she married her first love Tom Haakenson in 2003. After many years of medical problems she finally rests in painless peace. Her ever loving presence will be greatly missed. Surviving are her hus- band, Tom; stepchildren, Heidi Haakenson and Heather (Stacey) Ellis; brother, Brian Krusienski; sister, Joy (Gary) Vaillancourt; in-laws, Barbara and Bill Haakenson; nephews and niece, Meghan (Jim) Edmonson, Cullen (Tope’) Rude, Casey (Lauren) Rude, Connor (Alicia) Rude other relatives and many dear friends. In ad- dition to her parents she was preceded in death by aunt and uncle, Harold and Margaret Krusienski. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday, June 27, 2016, 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M.. Memorials to Chil- dren’s Hospital of Wis- consin has been suggested. The family wishes to thank all of Gale’s caregivers.
