John “Red” Haas

RACINE – John “Red” Haas, 73, passed away at his residence with his wife by his side on Thursday, January 26, 2017. A lifelong resident of Ra- cine, he was born on Au- gust 7, 1943, the son of the late Edward Peter and Carolyn (nee: Reichert) Haas. On May 14, 1966 he married Laurine Perino at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Red served his nation with the US Army Reserve. Red worked for many years selling industrial equipment for various family companies around the country. He was proud of his volunteer and men- toring work for St. Luke’s Behavioral/AODA Ser- vices for over 20 years as well as his almost 30 years involvement with the Grove Club. Red also served as past president of the Jaycees, the Racine Fourth Fest Parade Mar- shall and volunteered at the Community Meal Pro- gram at St. Patrick’ Cath- olic Church. Red was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In addition to his wife, Laurine, he is survived by his twin daughters, Bar- bara (John) McLoughlin of Rhinelander, Kristin Cecil of Tomahawk; his adored grandchildren, Charles (fiancée, Nicky) McLoughlin, Karli and Courtney Cecil; his great grandson, Matthew; his brothers and sisters, Nor- man (Ruth Ann) Haas, Daniel (Marlene) Haas, Marjorie Malko, Berna- dette (Al) Marrow, Ger- maine Brigman; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Elaine Haas, Yvonne Haas, Larry Jansen; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Red was also preceded in death by his dear son, Brian Haas; his brothers and sisters, Greg and Gerard Haas, Rose- mary Jansen, Audrey Haas, Diane (Joseph) Cook; his wife’s parents, Charles and Prudence Perino, brother-in-law, Richard Malko and sister-in-law, Rosemarie (Charles) Falkner. Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Jo- seph Catholic Church (1526 Erie Street) on Thursday, February 2, 2017 for a visitation from 4-6 p.m. The celebration of his life and memorial Mass will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev.
